Stroobandt Wedding from belgium - 01-29-2010, 08:09 AM

Shot a wedding this last month of a lovely couple from Belgium. The bride was born here in the US, so they decided to have the wedding at their parents house in Highland Village, TX.

The groom:

mom and dad

They had skype so family could watch who couldn't make it.

The license

The rings.

It was a great wedding. It was neat to observe another culture and even fill them in on a few american wedding cultures. Sarah came along and assisted on the shoot. It was great to have her there too.

What were the cultural differences for weddings between Belgium and America?

I like those rings. Very cool. I have a friend from Belgium who married a girl from here- first he married her in Belgium, then over here again. Something about legalities and stuff.

Jonny,

Those rings are pretty unique looking.
Love your Skype / Mac laptop shot. That seems to be more popular nowadays with distance relatives :)

not sure, because they had an american wedding, but the groom didn't know they were supposed to cut the cake, and really didn't understand why they fed it to each other. haha.

thanks to everyone else who commented.

Sounds like a typical American wedding to me! At my wedding, I just did what I was told and tried not to fall or break something.
