One Wedding Shot - M&A - 02-18-2010, 02:54 PM

Does this look over-PP'd? There are really only minor adjustments, I think the subject distance from the back wall makes them look a bit superimposed. This is the first time I have considered using PP to UN-enhance an image...

As always, all C&C is welcome.

I think it looks a little weird but it's not too bad. Probably better in black and white. Maybe a longer lense and tighter would make this particular shot better.

I think I agree with PJ. I don't like commenting on photos because to each his own. IMO, it's not 'striking'. Does look a little weird. It's almost like a silhouette shot was attempted but the subject is neither exposed to the point of silhouette, nor a full on normally exposed shot with rim lighting. It's like in between. Looks like your brought the shadows up in post. But take that for what it's worth, which isn't much.

I think it would lose its superimposed look if you converted it to B&W and then maybe play around with burning the background a little.

the rim light in the back with no fill kinda causes this copy/paste look. i think you should have gone with a faster shutter to kill the ambient light and go with silhouette.

i agree, b&w could be cool.

when we set up our lights at the reception, i make sure that we kill most of the ambient by having higher intensity.

another small detail, your height is showing in this picture.

I like rim lights. This shot is nice, but its lacking POP. My brain is telling me that the couple should be exposed brighter based on the way the background looks. Maybe kick up the curves adjustment on them? Either that or let them fall off into shadow and make it more silhouette-y. B&W would help provide the pop and make it feel more emotional.

Not a fan of the angle this was shot at.
I think if you were lower it would be better.
Or a longer focal length.

Is your light stand at head level? From this photo it looks pretty low.
