My first real wedding tagalong! - 08-10-2010, 03:06 PM

I was fortunate enough to get to tagalong with Don Barnes a few weeks ago, to shoot my first wedding. I've been a assistant to wedding photographers many times, but this is my first time to be let loose with my camera!
I was very nervous, and have a lot of room to improve, but Don made my day when he picked up almost 100 images to add the clients album! He was great to shoot along with, and very professional, and very helpful. A complete gentleman! He did his own post work, so these are of my own doing, and not nearly as polished as Don's.
Anyway, here is a sampling of images. I would like any constructive c&c, please. I know they're nothing extraordinary, I would just like to know what works, and what doesn't! There are none of the actual ceremony, as the church was very small, and very packed, so I tried to stay out of Don's way!
I would like to be a second shooter someday (no desire to be a primary, whatsoever!!). So, maybe with a little more practice, I could make that come true.
Thanks in advance!
TomD

great work for your first real wedding. there are a few a bit out of focus looks like camera shake and maybe some you could've zoomed out on. also white balance is off. also, that napkin looks like it says "Chae & Clay" but the belt says "Chase"....ummm I'd be getting a refund on those napkins LOL

The images I got from Tom are tack sharp, so it must be the save for the web problem. The belt actually says "Chasen" which is the brides first name, but all her friends call her Chae. Since many of these were RAW images shot under gymnasium lighting, they were a bit of a pain to color balance, but Tom got pretty close.

The crowd reaction from the bouquet toss and the garter toss are very notable.
