Oh, and on number 7, I was shooting through the rails, that's not an ultra heavy vignette. Also, for some reason, it doesn't look like there is texture on that wall, but I put texture on the whole thing.

Nice range of work Leslie. Not to hijack, but I notice you frequently use a variety of post processing styles in your work. As an artist I'm assuming that's your call. Do you ever get push back or requests from your clients asking for this or that shot to have the same "look" as one of the others?

Thanks, guys! Mark, no, I've never had that. One sister of a bride asked recently for a black and white to have a more sepia finish for a project she was doing, and one mother asked for a sepia, as well, from a black and white for a specific look for a save the date card, but they've never asked for anything like you said. I always just do my own thing to their images, and they seem happy with the processing that I've chosen for all of them. They trust my artistic vision, which is why I love my clients.
Oh, and one more thing, they are not kissing before their wedding, so I had to work around that lol! She also doesn't like her profile, typically. We did do some profile, but I kept having to shoot from a specific angle to avoid that as much as possible.

The dance on the canal really grabs me. What great lens did you use? I like the clarity and quality. Not sure that I could afford a lens that captures things as well as this.

Lol, you have to ask, Alton?? The same one I always use, lol, the Canon 24-105 f4. Some day, I would like to get one really good prime lens. I have an 85 1.8, but I hardly ever use it. Thanks!

Yep. I had to ask. Focal length was not the issue as much as speed. I need something faster than 5.6 and hear great things about the 24-70. That one is supposed to be a work horse. Looking forward to getting the 85 mm 1.8 and additional primes and/or a couple of fast aperture zooms.
The quality of these shots is what I am aiming for. Going to keep trying with the gear that I have.

My second shooter used to shoot with the 24-70, but is now shooting with the 24-105. Beware that a lot of people have had issues with that lens back focusing. Hopefully, they've fixed the problem b/c the people that haven't had the issue love that lens. Personally, I've tried that lens and hate it. It's just not for me, but I am also one that hates the 70-200. That lens and I do not get along, but when my second shooter shoots with it, he gets amazing images, as do most people. I think, and this might sound corny, that you have a somewhat marriage with the right lens for you. You will know it when you get it, and you will do amazing things with it. You become "one" in a sense lol. Ok, that was really corny. Sorry! Anyway, you def. need something faster than 5.6.

I'm trying to figure out who she looks like. A cross between Goldie Hawn and someone else I can't put my finger on. They're cute! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
