This was our first engagement session of the year...shooting their wedding in September. Took these Sunday evening in Galveston and just edited a few last night real quick. First time I'm actually pleased with the close up shots. And also my first attempt at a silhouette like that with an umbrella! Tried a couple other new things but I havent edited them yet.

In #5, I wish I had noticed her leg was so high up in the back and had her bring it down a bit. and she has a small bruise on her leg i need to go back and fix. I put NC since I'm posting too many pics for a detailed critique but if you notice anything else, by all means point it out. Thanks for lookin!

Rebecca! I LOVE the pictures!!! :) I think they are super cute. I agree with you on her leg being bent so high up in 5. And I absolutely love the idea behind the umbrella shot, but it throws me off a little that their shadows aren't inline with their bodies ... moreso from her shadow being so far over from her body. I guess I would have turned them to where shadows and bodies lined up more, but that's just me. And my preference would have been to put them closer together, without so much of a gap between them, and to do something else with his hand versus it hanging down doing nothing. I know I'm probably picking on that one picture way too much, but it's the one I would have done most differently than any other I guess. I guess it really just boils down to personal preference on posing though, but I thought I'd still share. Great job overall though!!! :) Like I said, I love them! And my absolute fave is #2! :)

Sylvia told me later that she was a nervous wreck the whole time, but it totally doesn't show in the pictures at all to me, so great job on however you got her to relax for the pictures!

Nah, I totally agree with all that. The umbrella/shadow thing was really spare of the moment and I wasn't even sure it'd work as good as it did! lol We were actually on our way back to the car to change clothes. I'd never attempted anything like that before, so I'll definitely slow my roll next time and pay a bit more attention to that. I get waaaaay too excited when I decide to try something new and start acting like speedy gonzalez.

haha thanks! I do the DOF on #2.

She says she was! lol! Whenever she mentioned it i just tried to let her shake it off and tell her how well they were doing. I also told her to be lucky Neil was into the pics as much as he was. It's so rare to find.
