From a visual standpoint, it's interesting. Nice movent and contrasts. It has both soothing and disturbing qualities. Artistically it works in an abstract way, but depending on the purpose of the shot that may not matter.

I like it! The hand above add visual interest and some tension to the scene. I would brighten the brides face a tad.

I would be tempted to experiment with a 4 by 5 crop. Otherwise, I am okay with it.

I've come back to this thread a couple times now, so here's my .02.

I don't think I mind the hand in front of the face so much, but I find myself wishing is was just a tad lower so I could see more of the bride's face. But knowing this is a candid shot, I'd take it for what it is and I am ok with it.

What really draws my attention is the "claw" looking hand above her head to the left. That'd be the one I wish wasn't in the shot. It doesn't look so much that she's fixing hair so much as trying to scratch a bad scalp condition.

I like the focus, DOF, and B&W processing.

the hand, top left, looks like a claw. Wish it would have been open.

:) Yeah, I agree. It is the mom's hand. I didn't have the heart to get rid of it...:)

Show it to the bride and mom and ask this question....

what do you think of this photo?

That's all that matters.

I like it. The arms lead you right to the look in her eyes. It may actually be more interesting to me because you cannot really see her facial expression. Makes it all about the eyes.

The claw is kind of unfortunate but I like the arm in that position.

Hm, my browser window is rather small (not supposed to be browsing the internet at work HA!), and it creates a nice crop through the top of her forehead that cuts out the claw and is close up on her face. Basically from the watch to the tip of the finger of the woman's left hand. That's a crop I love! I know it breaks all sorts of rules with cutting off body parts, but without the claw, I think this is a beautiful shot!
