i am not a fan of 1 - but that's a personal preference of mine. i place my lights higher if i want the flare, then i crop them out. but that's me..

2) love it!! even though it's blurred, it conveys motion and the tilt (which is a smidge too much for me - again, personal) helps create the feeling of urgency..

Good idea with the off-camera flash, but like Janet said, I would like the light higher. Also, his face doesn't look to be sharp.

The tilt in both photos isn't appealing to me. In the first it is slight and feels sloppy. In the second, it feels overdone and I don't know that a tilt adds anything to the picture. I do like the motion conveyed, but when dragging a shutter to get motion, I want SOMETHING to be sharp.
