Critique: CC:

I posted this a couple months back but didn't post the pics individually, just posted the link to my blog...so re-posting with each individual pic this time. Please give me any pointers and as always your comments are always appreciated. I shot the majority of this with my 50mm 1.8 on a Canon Rebel.

Kara,

If you are asking for CC on your photos then please limit your post to the 3 best images of your set. I am changing your thread from CC to NC until you've narrowed down your images.

Rule #3. Photo Quantity Limitations
Do not post more than 3 photos in a thread for critique. Choose your absolute best 3 shots of the series and post those. Posting more than 3 shots per thread will only hurt your chances of getting an honest critique since critiques do take time.

So sorry Sonny...I haven't posted in a long time and forgot about the new rules. Fixing now! Can I make two threads then? 3 a piece?

No worries.

There isn't a rule stating you can't create two threads.

That's OK, I'll bite. I like seeing a larger body of work. I'll just comment on the ones I choose. These are pretty good. I like the emotion. I think you can improve them with some cropping and post work. Some very quick examples. Cropped, threw some light into them and added a vignette on one of them and straightened the distortion on the last one.

A little under exposed, but otherwise good.

Small tip for next time, watch your background exposure. In these, the background threw off your in-camera meter.

Smaller tip, spot meter their faces. Most of the times, they are more important than every thing else.

Even smaller tip, since you prolly didn't shoot the vertical shot with a tilt-shift, use Photoshop crop with perspective ticked and fix the vertical alignment.
