Galveston Bridals - 07-26-2011, 05:38 PM

Critique: CC:

I took these back in April... I wanted to have some fun in Galveston and do a shoot for "me" so when I found out Brittany was getting married in Costa Rica, I knew she'd be perfect. Buuuut, she didnt bring a bouquet, so that kinda threw me off a little bit. My next bridal shoot is next month, and when i say i did THIS shoot for meee, it was because bridals make me nervous - any pointers/things to do differently?

You ask for pointers, but marked the images NC. It seems difficult to give pointers without talking about the images posted. :)

One item about the bouquet. I always used one or two long stem roses. It gives the bride something to do with her hands. Maybe that is what you mean by pointers?

crud, i didnt meant to. ill have to try to fix that. I always welcome comments, good or bad. i havent looked at these images since i finished them in april, so i definitely could've missed some things.

nah, just pointers in general...about posing. or composing. or things to watch out for shooting bridals...like hand/train positions, angles, things like that.

i should definitely try to bring some flowers with me next time, just in case huh? i mean, my sister is quite good at that sort of thing, she'd make a bouquet for me, even a fake one or two. or at least ask bride before hand. yep.

Okeydokey....

With complete trepidation and total fear, I offer this.

A while back I posted an image of a thin senior girl posed straight on with her hands on her hips, and was told by several, that type of pose was not correct.

That is about all I know about posing females.

I am hardly the one to take criticism from, seeing as how I am a newbie. However, as a personal preference/opinion, the posing (whether it be natural or not) doesn't flatter the muse. She has a very broad chest & shoulder. As well, she has a little bit extra on her arms. It seems to me, in a lot of these shots, that is what I focus on most. Again, I am not a uber-pro like most but, these are my personal opinions. Being a novice at posing, unfortunately, I cannot give you any tips. However, aside from my super nit-picky-ness...I love the shots!
