Nice bridals in downtown Ft. Worth - 07-30-2011, 11:03 AM

Critique: NC:

Yesterday, a bride and I were walking around downtown Ft. Worth looking for something neat to use as a backdrop when a nice lady pops out of a door gushing with delicious cool air. She asks us if we'd like to come in and do some bridals in their gallery?! Well, it was still a good 1/4 mile til we would get to the parking garage, and we were all sweating bullets. Of COURSE we'd like to to come in! Then we were asked if we'd like some water! Holy schnikes, could this get any better? The answer was yes, YES IT COULD. No sooner were we were handed ice-cold bottles of water, a gentleman in a suit sitting at a grand piano asks if we'd enjoy some music while we photographed? Well, why the flip not? We're all looking at each other like, "Is this for REAL?" And then he starts playing the wedding march as we get some more shots in! Simply amazing. Never have I been WELCOMED into an establishment for photographic purposes, unless I was hired. Usually, I get security asking me to move on. Very nice change of pace. I believe the name of the place was the Milan Gallery, on Houston street. Very nice folks!

I took maybe 10 pictures in there, an I'm sure I didn't scratch the surface as far as the number of shots I could've taken in there. But, not only were we losing light, but I didn't want to wear out my welcome in such a neat place!

Thanks, everyone! I'd like to go back, but I don't know what the proper etiquette would be. I don't think I could afford any of their art. Has anyone else had a similar situation present itself? I'm thinking perhaps I'd just go in and present my predicament. I guess I could just ask what they'd consider fair trade. I suppose they're looking for some nice referrals. They certainly got a few from me!
