Are you editing the jpeg? I was messing around with some IR photos I took, and drastically changing the colors did lead to a lot of noise. It was far more apparent in jpegs versus raw.

As for the picture, I like the composition and the warmth you are getting with the edit. It's definitely a distinct style of editing. Also, there appears to be some kind of shadow on her cheek near her mouth running down to the jaw line. (Or she has a birthmark and I'm just an ***.)

Did you run it through a noise reduction program? I think the noise works with the edited photo though. I would crop out all the trees above their head.

The shadow looks like a tree limb since it runs down her arm too.

Yeah, I was working with JPEG. I should try with the RAW, and see how that works out. As for that shadow...oops. I thought it was a smudge on the screen. Now, I am trying to figure out why it is even there. Maybe it's the way her muscles pull when she smiles, and the angle of her head. That can be fixed easily...thank goodness. I am trying to put together a list of my/others favorite PP styles. Thanks Audrey, I appreciate the critique!

Any others?

@Nate I don't want to get rid of all the noise, just some. I have used CS5 noise reduction....but it didn't really make a difference.

Focus on the shot, light composition, not noise or PP. Your original looks far better than the post. Always think about the post processing that won't outdate in the future in 20 years ahead. :D
