Latest Bridal Session - 03-26-2006, 09:05 PM

I was excited to get out and finally do another bridal session. The more I do this, the more I want to just quit my weekly job!

Still editing but I"ve picked out my fave already

this one came out darker than I like, but it was the only chance I got to take this shot. SOOO many people walking into the shot...grrr.....

*anyone notice the blooper in this pic? lol*

What a smile! Nice location too!

Good job. Work like this will let you quit your day job if you really want to. Just remember that then THIS will become your job!

Nice job on all...not sure I like the light vignette on the last one though. The "blooper" pic...softbox mounted in the background?

Some look like they could use a bit of a contrast boost but that's just a personal preference. I like #4 but she looks a bit soft.

And a few look like they could be brought up a tad more in levels.

But nice job overall! I like the first one a lot. She has a great smile.

nice pics overall, I would increase contrast and work a little bit more on postprocessing so..
and honestly, I don't like repeating poses "half turn kinda look" IMHO

how can i boost the contrast without blowing out the dress? I tried curves but I don't seem to grasp how that works too well either.

something like this (sorry did on work-crappy-LCD) might not be too good so, but just to get an idea

Brightness/Contrast -4/+13
Hue/Saturation +10
Shadow/Hightlight 0%/10%
NoiceNinja (just to smooth skin a little)
dat it... might at Gaussian Blur on dublicate layer, or... etc...
one this, would be nice to fix shadow on her shoulder so

I never use the contrast sliders I always use levels and curves. YOu have more control over the image.

Levels is more like exposure, curves you can get Contrast...

create 2-3 points on the line (prety much equal distance, one in the center) then drag top one up a little and bottom one down a little.. kinda S shape.. it will give you contrast

here is small tutorial on dat...

http://www.bairarteditions.com/pages...scontrast.html

the best thing to do to learn is watch others, ask question, GOOGLE for tutorial, and of cause the main is PRACTICE

start with levels. the left is dark the right is light. play with each slider and see how it controls the histogram... it's really easy. If you need help just ask and i can talk you through it once or i can come over and show ya...

heres a little example.

try not to have the hand at such an angle. you could bring up the arm a little and that would get rid of that broken wrist and all the lines.

moved the levels in some
selective color on the dress
whiten the teeth and eyes selective hue
got ride of that flower sticking out
brought the high light down on the rock
NN to the bride
fix the line on her head
fixed the shadow on her back
little CC to the skin

taking out those branches running through her head and getting rid of that box or shelf really brought out the bride. Plus working the water a little and cutting off the one big flower sticking up.

I would show here one with the flower sticking up and one with out. you never know when a bride is in love with something and for some reason wants her boobs to look like flowers sticking out from them..
