The wedding I shot last August had the groom's father in a wheelchair with oxygen, dying from lung cancer.. they moved the wedding up just so he could attend.. he died 2 weeks later.

I'm blocked at work as well, but based on what has been said, my heart goes out ... however, I truly believe it to be a special "honor" when someone asks me to photograph their wedding, 50th anniversary, child's portrait, etc. Although I am humble enough to realize I have so much more to learn to improve my craft, and business aspects of what I do, however, being able to capture a special moment in someone's life truly touches a special place in my heart. Isn't it great to be able to photograph and document such events and help preserve a memory ?

I think the groom was a pretty special guy, too. He showed a true act of courage and bravery by sticking with her. He was not bound by "until death do us part" until the wedding. He could have split, and a lot of people probably wouldn't have blamed him. It's nice to know that love can still move mountains and fjord waters of unimaginable expanse.

I met a girl once..... we dated...... knew we were the 'one' for each other.
We planned to get married a year or so later. Then we got the news that her last remaining parent, her mother, had terminal cancer. We moved the wedding WAY up so that her mother could see her only daughter get married. We had only known each other several months, but again we 'just knew'. Expediting the wedding was a blessing; we lost her mother soon after.

Now, almost 7 years later, Im STILL married to my soulmate.

As some of you know, i recently lost my dad to cancer. Its a brutal, cruel, viscious disease but it unfailingly teaches you the power of the human spirit. How to love stronger, deeper - that the little things dont matter. Its only the here and now and that 'now' is only a VERY short time. Enjoy what you have.

Amazing story. Weddings have a way of keeping people around... giving them strength to go on for just a few more days. Though my grandfather was too sick to attend my wedding, we got to see him the day before the ceremony and talk to him even though he couldn't respond. He passed away the day after our wedding. I thank a higher power for letting me see him one last time before he left us...
