Wednesday's Bridal - 07-21-2006, 11:14 PM

Boy was it hot!!!

But fun!!!!! This was my second bridal session and my first where the bride wanted to have fun. The other girl I shot was so concerned about her gown and her makeup that we couldn't relax and do anything fun, so this was definately more rewarding. Here are a couple.

Now, what to do with the pictures. The images she chooses I will process, but should I do anything with the other proofs? They are on my proof site now and look so drab and bad that I'm tempted to take them off, but I don't want to work on all 150 of them!!!! What do you all do with them?

When I converted the raw files I bumped up the exposure just below the point of loosing the dress, which meant that the face could still use some adjustment. Would it be better to adjust for the face and not worry about the dress on the proofs? Here's the site so you can see what I'm referring to: www.photographybywendy.exposuremanager.com

Bridals are my least favorite session because of all the "to do" that goes along with it. But then you get than fun bride and you forget all the reasons you did'nt want to do them.

As far as all your proofs, everyone has their own way of doing things. If you feel they are "drab and bad" than take them off. I personally would narrow down the selection to a least my top 30-50, and process those. I like for the person to always see the final product. Yes it may take longer for the bride to see their pictures (aprox. 2 wks), but it's the way I like to do it. No telling how many people she will direct to your website to see her pictures, and I want those people to see my best.

I decided to take Miguel's suggestion and do some quick fixing up of the proofs. Not finished by any stretch of the imagination, but probably a closer representation of what the finished portrait will be. I just keep looking for ways to make the processing time shorter, and it seemed that just converting the file to proofs would work. In this case it wasn't possible because of the white wedding dress.

The bride called and told me she can't make up her mind which image she wants printed for the wedding, so I guess she is pleased!

Thanks for looking!!!
