Cool Different Processing - 10-15-2006, 03:55 PM

These are some more images from the Awesome wedding I had last weekend, the difference is that I have tried some really unconventional processing on them and would like to know what you guys think of them.

2.

3.

4.This is my favorite one of the bunch.

Be honest. Like I said though I was pushing some limits.

What did you do? How did you do it? And where can I get it too! I love the third one!

To be honest I really don't care for them at all. The last one is kind of neat, and the 3rd one is not to bad, but there all too much for my taste.

That said, I like the shots just not the processing.

Not for my daughter. They are okay but a bit disconcerting. If I paid for a photograph, I would want a photograph.

From my very unprofessional points of view, the bride in mirror looks like a vampire, and so is the reflexion in the car window.

The pics are neat.

The B&W one is cool.

The others look like too much Dragan & PlasticWrap applied.

Nice pictures, but the processing just doesn't work for me. I like #3, but something about the side of his head looks off. The PP in the first one doesn't seem so strong, but I can't figure out what is in focus; and #2 and #4 just have too much of whatever PP you were doing.

My 2¢...

I could go for #3 - the rest look way over the top. Too much "illustration".

yikes. this makes the people look... fake, lizard-like, vampire-like... i'm not digging what it's doing to skin. the priest looks like he is made of melting wax and the guy in the car looks like a star trek character.

on the bright side.. i love the texture on everythign else! i think this processing would be phenomenal on non-people shots.

ya know i was messing w/ similiar techniques a week ago..
i found that it only worked with portraits if i lightened the effect on the poeple's skin.

too much diffuse glow on them. Only the black & white one works in my opinion.

Good to experiment though and my advice would be to fade the effect somehow since it's a little too much.

Can you give us some insight into the steps of processing?
I like the look, but not sure that it works well with the subject matter.

I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

I've been trying to get that illustrative look myself. Especially with the skintone. But just with less highlight glow. I think I told you this the other day...

Okay, I must be weird...Im not sure where the vampire remarks are coming from. The last one looks Norman Rockwell-ish. If it were my wedding, I'd like to see 1-2 like that. But then again, I dont like ho-hum images...
