This bride thinks thats her favorite image of the day. She loves us for doing capturing this image.

My online service has the option of the bride and groom pick and choose all images they want to go active to the general public.

Different Folks - Different Stokes

We do this at EVERY WEDDING, something fun, something stupid, something interesting, and something different. It is what we are known for, why clients go with our art, and we get paid VERY well to do it, so we can't be doing that much wrong.

To me its not my job to choose what is embarassing to the bride or any family member or to pick and choose what my personal beliefs are on their wedding day. To me, my job is to capture the day as it natually unfolds and display my art as such.

Nothing More but more importantly to me Nothing Less.

Mike, what service is that? That is a great option. Much better than a simple password protected gallery or separate galleries....

Thanks guys. This is really good insight. I wasn't even concern about the "nudity" or "while dressing" scenes. I haven't been told "...not in the dressing room" yet, but I personally do not take any "underwear" shots as a sign of respect to the brides. I was more concern about a women's camera eye versus a man's camera eye as a second shooter. (Please don't let that topic take off into a separate tread)

Thanks again,

oh for heaven's sake. i shoot boudoir portraiture, nude maternity portraiture, etc.

i'm certainly not against the fine art of the human form, or any sort of forced censorship.

you can't tell me that you put personal beliefs aside on the wedding day. it's your personal beliefs that define your (obviously very good) artistic style. what you believe to be appropriate and beautiful shapes your photographic vision.

if they can choose what gets seen by others, then that's spectacular-- but if they couldn't, it's certainly not something that would be appropriate to display when the target audience is potentially every guest at their wedding.

Reuben
I shoot my first wedding on the 18. Although it was my wife's family and she also did some of the shooting. We did very little getting ready, they were fully dress. I have a list of photos that I have made over the last year trying to get a thought of what photos one should take. Let me know and I'll send it to you or I can dring it to the next Plano Club meeting in January. But a list I think is a place to start, then you can talk about that befor hand.

I think its helpful but not necessary to have mixed sexes for shooters. In my quest to gain experience by assisting others I have found it VERY difficult to do as a male. I've had several photographers say that simply they preffered women. Other than that, I think they can tell by the equipment I have etc. that I'm going to possibly be their competition someday, hence they are not interested in using me when there are plenty of other photographers who really do want to do it "just for fun" or just for a few extra bucks but aren't interested in moving into the wedding market.

I've been trying to teach Joanna more about photography and get her interested in it so she can help me out at weddings. If I went into a brides dressing room and saw some skin I fear I'd be in trouble with Joanna! Which is why I want to send her in there Besides, I dont think I could easily remove myself mentally from the situation and being in the dressing room would freaking weird me out! I mean really, I hardly know the lady and I know how I would feel myself if some guy was in the dressing room while Joanna was getting dressed. If he came back with some picture of my new wife half naked I'd cram it up his ass while showing him the door.
