I view it as akin to photographing a parade or a football game: You photograph it, but it doesn't exist for the photography; it's going to happen whether the photographer is even there or not.

I guess it makes a difference too, in the status of the couple prior to the wedding. If they're already living together, the wedding doesn't change much for them and wouldn't much matter if it was one year or the next.

And, as for me, I wouldn't mind changing a location to fit the date.

---------------------------
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by,
and then it petered out and I had to retrace my steps and wasted half a day.

Actually, it means they're on the right track..able to compromise and find a solution that will make them very happy in the longrun.

Congrats girlie!

Hmmm...how to put this...

Photographing a wedding is not akin to photographing a parade or game. And yes, the wedding is going to go on, and while it may not exist for the photography, the photography, for MOST brides, is essential to the day so that they can remember it.

And it is not surprising at all to me that a bride would change a date to get the photographer that she wants. Brides are particular and want the day captured in a specific fashion, and therefore will look for a photographer that shoots in the style that they want. Believe, brides can do some crazy things in their quest for the perfect wedding day, and whether you think this or not, they will make changes in order to get what they want.

yup. I moved my dates several times because either the ceremony location fell thru..then the venue....so changing it for the part that will last forever (the photography) doesn't seem crazy at all.
