Keep or Toss? Any suggestions???? - 12-18-2006, 07:08 PM

Going through some of the Bridal images I shot with Phil Cassell and leslie a few weeks ago I came acros this image and tried to save it as much as humanly possible.

I know its an ooops because she is out of focus, what happened was she turned just as she finished placing this heart on the other side of the window with her fingers and I just missed it. Added a little post to hopefully bring her out more but not sure if it works or not.

I know this would never really end up in an album or something like that but I thought I would get the PROS opinions here as to whether you would even keep it or toss it.

Any respnses greatly appreciated.

And if there is anyone who is a WHIZ at PS and would care to help to see if it worth your time to play let me know and I can send you a full rez file to see what you come up with just pm me and I will respond.

Sometimes we wish we could go back and recreate but its not always possible I know and I really didnt want a "POSED" type shot and I just clicked the shutter a "LITTLE TO LATE"

Thanks for looking here it is:

Hey Stephen, I like this pic, my suggestion for "helping" it would be just to see if you can bring out the heart a bit more. So that way it makes the action of her putting the heart there the moment to rememeber, so then her, being out of focus is okay. Does that make sence?

On its own I say keeper all the way, however without seeing the others in the session I can not tell you what to do.

Again just looking at it, I love the unique different, one of a kind, artistic feel to the image.

Its one you can always throw as "Artistic Vision"

i love it.

if you want to make it appear more "artsy" you can always boost the contrast or fade the colors or something.

Terrific shot. The OOF works well with the rusty window frame against the "clean" bride w/ pearls and the little heart makes a powerful statement... Although you say that the picture has "problems", I don't have a problem with it at all...
As to being in an album at some point, you might be surprised.

This could be nice. Or leave it as it is. You never can predict what the client will like.

Edited to emphasize heart.

If you throw that in the trash heap, I will hunt you down and shoot you.

That is a great shot on its own merits.

I did not notice the heart until I saw someone else point it out.... if you can make it more prominent somehow in photoshop, that would rock... but I loved it before I noticed that.

Hey, is this a window or a mirror? Someone told me they thought it was a mirror and all I'm thinking is she should so get a tetanus shot if that's the mirror. Definitely a window, right???

Oh, and I love the shot. Before I noticed the heart... eh, take it or leave it. But, with the heart, perfect!

I would have thought it was 100% great - love everything, except the heart.

With the heart its around 80% lovin it.

Overall - I would keep it - its different. I like the original version. THe tones compliment each other really well in colour.

And it might end up in an album or on a wall.

Edit: Mike! Stop contradicting me! ;o)
