After a nice, relaxing holiday season, we thought we’d catch up on a little posting.

We had our last engagement shoot of the year at the Arboretum with this great-looking couple. There weren’t many flowers but we still took advantage of some of the great settings over there!

#1 Notice the shadow on the frame…went for reflection and shadow on this shot

#2 A simple looking back shot

#3 A casual black & white image

#4 Fun shot with the Dallas skyline and nearing sunset

#5 One of our favorite shots in the mist Photography lighting style

Nice stuff Carlo! On #2 though, I personally think it looks a little too much like being caught in the headlights. That's just me, maybe it the transition were a bit softer...

The first one is my favorite, love the shadow! Sweet!

It was a headlight (just kidding)

I agree on needing more light...That's why I think I'm going to be adding a Quantum setup very soon since the 580ex just didn't have enough power for what I had in mind for this shot.

In the case of the headlight I would have liked to have seen just a touch of the front fender of the car. Just enough to make out it's a car, to kind of put things in context. Even to shoot two frames and drop the car in later. I dunno, just thinking....

I should've made specifically said I was joking! I didn't have enough light unless I wanted to go higher ISO to light most of the foreground.

I do like the idea about using a real car...i will have to do that in a future shoot!

#3 is so heartwarming and simple, yet you can still tell the emotions they are feeling. I bet you $2 that he has his eyes closed on the other side!
