Well, you don't have to worry about me. But seriously, I don't believe anyone who truly wanted great photos of their special day would buy into this.

LOL. "Anybody" I'd have to disagree with...But "clients I want to work with"...absolutely. I thought about getting a few of these books and handing them out to potential clients that bring up low ballers or perhaps handing them out at the rehearsal. But then that would be in poor taste huh? hehe. (J/King btw).

Kinda not too funny though that Amherst would do that sort of thing.. Course what else is new in corporate America. It's all about making a buck..including stabbing your core buyers/employees in the back. Whatever it takes. I digress.

Maybe the author is on to something...If there are going to be these people at weddings taking pictures anyways, regardless of what you do, might as well make a buck of of them.

Take it another step further - charge per head and hold a wedding photography seminar at the wedding <sarcasm>

I might get run over one day at the race track but no way am I messing with a female on her wedding day. And by messing with I am talking about shooting pictures.
Now that's way to scary for me.

Maybe we can hand them out before the wedding to all the brothers/cousins/aunts that try to shoot the SAME FREAKIN SHOTS we are, and encourage them to find other shots...

At a wedding this weekend I spent 10 minutes posing a group of maybe 45 cousins of the groom at the reception at the request of the father of the groom. I had my on-camera flash and was triggering a studio flash as well, for great light in a very dark reception hall (Omni off I10). There were SEVEN relatives with p&s over my shoulder waiting to take the same shot when I was done. As it wasn't an "official" photo for the b&g and a special request, I didn't have a cow...but I wanted to. I know our photos won't compare, but geez.

After thought here, this b&g had me stay for 2 hours after their departure, any one ever had that? I shot dancing, more dancing, and of course the cousins (ok, more than that, but 2 hours with no b&g?)

Haven't had that happen. Whether it is a staged exit or the real deal, our brides know that we are gone after the exit. By the time they get to that point, everything else has been done and nothing but a lot more of the same dancing that we have already gotten lots of will be going on. For the few brides that have asked me about it during consultation, I simply ask "Are you serving alcohol?... Yes?... Well, are you REALLY sure you want to see what they look like after the alcohol hits?" They usually realize really quickly that maybe they don't want someone there quite so long after all.
