Hello Amy:

Not really a critique, but I'd recommend not putting your watermark dead center.

As for the photos themselves, here's what I think:

1. I'd probably like to see her a bit further away from the window as the vivid colors from the room are fighting for attention in the shot. I'd also have liked this one better if the bride had her face turned slightly which would have been more flattering for her facial features (this is highlighted more by the direct flash)

2. Looks like it was probably a cool moment but it doesn't seem (to me, anyway) immediately obvious what's going on

3. Like the energy of this one, it'd be even great w/o the watermark over the bride's face.

4. I really like this one.

5. You have a few overlapping heads on the right hand side of the frame, I'd watch out for those.

6. The clock is running through their heads and the image would be stronger without it. Either move them into a different position next time or use a wider aperture to make the background less obvious. Also the bride needs some fill in her eye area.

7. The bride is energetic but the groom doesn't seem to be into this one. Also drag the shutter (use a slower shutter speed) to get some more ambient light in for a cooler effect.

#4 is totally rockin! Crop that shadow out of the bottom and make it oblong is my main suggestion. Yeah! That is so fun.

Let me first start off by saying - I have been following your work and LOVE it! Glad you dig the throwback to Abby Road. They just happened to be Beatles fans, so it worked :)

I agree with dragging the shutter, but it was DARK! As for the watermark - it's an action, and it places it smack dab in the center...I guess I should tweak b/c you are not the first to comment on it ;)

Thanks again for stopping by.

HOLLY! I want to crop it, but what about printing? Should the couple custom frame a shot? Why not! We don't ask the greats to give us an 8X10 to frame, right?

I'd definitely recommend tweaking it. You definitely want to put your stamp on it but you want the photos to have that impact.

As for dragging the shutter, you may want to bump your ISO as well. Don't be afraid to try out the higher ISOs (800/1600). Combined with a wide aperture you'd be surprised how much light you can pull out of a scene like that.

And thank you very much for the compliment!

Amy, I like your style and you have a good eye. #4 & #7 look a little red to me, the faces especially.

The abbey road shot is unique. Making it an unusual size will jsut add to the impact.

I love the shot with the bike but while you're cropping, I'd either clone or crop the streetlight on the left side out.

Collins is the pro so take my comments for what you paid for them.

Poor focus behind the camera creates as many bad photos as poor focus through the camera!
