Backup Bridal Photos - 03-04-2008, 03:43 PM

Well this is my first real post on the forum and I am ready for some feedback!! Just take it easy at first... just kidding!

I was set to shoot bridal portraits this past Sunday at the Arboretum in Dallas. Due to weather we had to go with plan b and shoot them indoor using my portable studio setup. This was my first attempt at "formal studio" bridal portraits. Please give me any feedback to help improve in the future. Enjoy!

one question is why are there none of the entire dress?
#3 would've been a good photo if it had the entire dress in it....they are good though

I think you did a great job! They look great considered this is your first studio attempt. Just a few quick notes:
img 1: the light from the left corner is kind of distracting. The whole image looks great except for that light coming fromt hat corner.
img 2: same problem, her veil seems a bit too bright and it's a bit distracting. Maybe darken it a little bit
img 3: I wish her eye was not covered by her hair.
img 4 & 5: I like the pp that you have done.

Just my humble opinion!Great job overall!

One suggestion would be to shoot slightly more down on her to possibly give a more flattering angle. All in all I think you did well..

Teresa,
Reason no full length was due to space limitations. I did get some full dress but they were not the best shots.

again thanks for input every bit helps

I think they look good.

Full-length shots are a must, though, because most wedding gowns are boxed up into a space-age container and never seen again. If she has a photo on her wall she can show people not at the wedding, "Hey, this was my dress."

I agree--full length is important, but your close-ups are nice. Any chance you can get some full-length shots at a later date?

Are you the wedding photographer?

Melanie,

The plan is to go back and re do some full lengths outdoors... to complicate matters the dress had to be patched in the back because the zipper totally broke and would not even zip up... so this was a real make shift shoot!

and yes I do shoot weddings, you can see some of my other work at www.midsonphoto.com
