Recent E-session at the Farm - 05-21-2008, 09:47 AM

Last week we did an e-session on the grooms lease out in the Brookshire area. We had a blast. I only wish the sky would have cleared up earlier so we didnt have the plain gray backdrop at the beginning of the shoot. The sunset made up for it though. Here are a few shots that we liked after taking a first pass through them. Let me know whatcha think.

1.

2. I loved this shot, the bride didnt think she looked "hot" in it. She is to hard on herself.

3. I have a better crop of this that I like better but it isnt ready to view yet.

4.

5. Radio Poppers at work on 5 & 6. Talk about an amazing sunset.

6.

7. Been wanting to do this silhouette for awhile. Finally found the right place.

Looks good Scott. Glad to see the Radio Poppers in action. At first I thought the veil in #3 was an arrow pointing to the couple until I looked close. I really like the silhouette, looks like somebody was looking out for you with that sunset.

Image # 5,6,7 are NICE!
#2 doesn't work for me because of her facial expression, it's just seems "too much" for me.
#3, the veil is actually a bit distracting, I'd love to see that photo without the veil.
~just my humble opinion!

But GREAT job overall! Gotta love the silhouette.

love the last one... and 4,5,6 too...

#2 does seem "weird" if i can use that term. His butt is kind of in your face and she doesnt look comfortable.

#3 you said you had better one, but the white thing looks like an arrow pointing a the cow in the background? It distracts me from the great water reflection... Cool shot...

Nice stuff... i hope to be as good....

The veil was blowing the wrong direction so she took it off and hung it in the tree. I didnt notice it looking like an arrow until afterwards. I can see #2 as being a strange angle for him. We have a different look for that one as well. As far as the over the top with her look, she did it on her own. I was worried that it was to sensual looking. This tractor had some sort of significance so we were trying to get it in the shot and one reason this one went on the blog. Ill post a couple more later that were from a different angle and crop.

Thanks for the comments, it always helps having a different perspective.

The sunset shots are awesome.

It's a strange problem: an overcast sky can provide the best, even lighting for outdoor shots, but having it play a big part in the photos doesn't work because it's just gray and blah. I think these are very good overall. No. 3 doesn't need the veil to be a very powerful image.

Your right about the sky. I am almost to a point I hate complete over cast skies especially since using off camera flash alot more. The Radio Poppers even make my disdain for gray skies even worse. It make me crazy to not have the nice textures that broken clouds give. The gray skies tend to be good for Becca, (my wife) who tends to shoot alot of closeups while I am trying for the dramatic wider angle shots. This particular evening the sky started opening up at sunset and really popped a nice hole in the clouds for the silhouette.
