Woodlands Waterway Night Shoot - 09-02-2009, 10:28 AM

I figured I would go ahead and start a post for the field trip. Caryn lead the beginner's group, and I strobed with the advanced group. Post your images here.

Vu ....... as always a nice set of shots !!!!

Come on members, let's get some shots loaded up!!

Here are a few of mine. How they load up here is random. The dark photo is the one WITHOUT STROBE to show 'before' and then ......... the strobe shot. I think he could have been lit with 'alittle' more light, but it gets the point across.

Thanks Vu for your instructions !!!!!

Is that Diane posing for you?!?! Man...I need to get out with you guys! Most of my photographer buddies around here just aren't the shoot at night types.....and, I've been wanting to get out at night and play.

Did anyone give you any slack for bringing out strobes on the waterway??

Yup, that sure was Dianna doing the posing...with some arm twisting. Haven't yet gotten hassled for strobes out there, I've done it a bunch of times already without any grief.

Let me know when you want to shoot, my buddy Doug and I are always looking for an excuse to do night shooting. I need to get some night skyline shots of downtown houston as well.

Mindy, yep, that's me, and yes, there was some arm twisting for me to pose ;)
We had fun with the loose instruction time and people got to try their hand at the different light set ups and then at the end, a few of us went over to the bridge area and played around with Vu's jumping shot. I'm so glad I went!
And I'm up for a night shoot, too, whenever.

Here are the few that I have from that night.

Every time a shutter clicks, a photographer gets his wings.

Jenny, I have moved away from the woodlands...all the way to west central TX in San Angelo...so I won't be making any meetups soon. There's a couple guys in the Woodlands photo club that could help. My buddy Doug is an officer on the board, I can put you in touch if you like.

Hi Jenny, the next Woodlands Photo Club meeting is Monday, Feb 8th at 6:30 pm @ The Woodlands Community Center next to the library. I'll be setting up/operating the projector so please come up and say hi if you're able to make it. Low light photography is something I enjoy doing as well - and way overdue to get back to downtown Houston for some night time photography there. I'm out many weekends shooting rock bands playing at various small venues around town for no other reason than I enjoy it - so if you're inclined to try your hand at that, let me know.
