Wallace,

nice to see that someone started a thread on this field trip. your post processing seems a bit unique. what steps or actions are you using? I like all the photos and especially the angles on the shots. The second shot would also look pretty cool if it was taken 'lower' i think ---- i am not even sure i did that, but seeing your photo, that is kind of my first thought, so i need to go check mine out. I like that the third photo appears to be taken by dipping the view of your camera down a little, which makes for an 'inviting' feel. Perhaps a teeny bit of reduction in DOF (but not much) would even make it a little more moody...... what do you think? Again, your colors are rich and am curious your post processing steps.......

thanks for posting your shots. it gives those that didn't go a chance to see what was there, and those that did a refreshing view of how others took shots of the same things we saw.

well done.

Susan

Susan, these are HDRs with 5 exposures from -2 to +2. I process them in Photomatix then PS. Thanks for your comments.

Wallace,

thanks for the update. i am always intrigued with lighting and post processing and sometimes try to guess ......... see, i was thinking you might have had some 'actions' that you ran. glad i asked, cuz now i know.

and btw, i think #3 is my fav. it is a tad softer than the others, but i like the composition and the variety of stuff IN the photo.

Interesting photos, Wallace! The HDR processing makes many of them look like old Norman Rockwell paintings. Thanks for posting!!

I'm new here. Where is this? Do you have to make special arrangements to get inside these buildings?

Old Hempstead Hwy (or whatever that road is, it parallels 290 one block south), just east of where "it" crosses Fry Road.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, that place. I didn't know that you could get inside. Cool. I will figure out when the buildings are open.

Thanks Ken!
