This was a great workshop. Lots of aspects covered regarding "finding your style", posing and lighting. Mike and Holly were definitely available to assist with any of these aspects including metering types, exposure, etc. Definitely recommend.

This was my first workshop and I really didn't know what to expect. Before the workshop, Holly seemed happy to answer any and all questions I had about it.

I was very happy with the workshop. It was designed to cover different portrait styles and posing techniques, which is what I needed not the technical stuff about equipment. While we were shooting, Holly and Mike were constantly offering suggestions on how to improve a shot. They pointed out the little details to keep an eye out for, many of which I had never thought of before. I came away with some beautiful shots that I am proud of, but more importantly to me, in my not so goods shots I know now what to do differently the next time. The models, Kristen and Ashley, were very professional and were easy to work with and not to bad to look at either.

The only improvement I can think of right now would be a little better organization. At the start of the workshop Mike split us up into 2 groups, half with him and half with Holly, but then everyone just kind of went where they wanted to. Many times one model would have a dozen photogs around her while the other model was sitting back left out. Maybe Mike could have been covering one subject or technique and Holly another and then rotate the 2 groups.

Thank you

The workshop wasn't quite what I thought it would be. The location that was eventually chosen (at the last minute) was very small and cramped for 12 photographers, 2 "instructors", and 2 models. It was almost impossible to get a good shot without getting in someone's way, and since they were using backdrops, it was sometimes impossible to get a shot that didn't include half the backdrop and half the brick wall behind it, because there was just no room.

The instruction from Holly and Michael was mediocre at best... I was expecting some visual instruction on how to pose the models, but instead, we got a quickly discussion of how you should make your subject put all their weight on one leg to create curves, then Holly said "So, how would you like to pose these guys?" Well, if I knew that, I wouldn't have taken the class... it was quite frustrating to me.

There were small tips and tricks thrown out every now and then, but it was hardly worth the money. The Bridal portion (what I was mainly there for) was over in 30 minutes, with hardly any posing suggestions, other than having her lay on her train, and then sit on a couch.

All in all, it was basically a model shoot with a little instruction, which would have been fine for $75-$100, but at $200 for 3 hours, I feel really jipped.
